The countdown is on for the 2011 Taylor County Fair, June 3rd through June 11th in Campbellsville!
This year there are some exciting new additions to the Fair along with many of the all-time traditional favorites. All new in 2011, will be the Little Ponderosa Petting Zoo which will feature a wide variety of exotic animals and pony rides. The zoo will open at 6 p.m. nightly, Monday through Saturday and will be free with your gate admission. A Tribute to Elvis featuring Caleb Brown and the TCB Band will perform along with Larry Strange as Ray Stevens. Local recording artist, Terry Wooley, will also perform during the fair.
Also new, will be the Bear Hollow Wood Carvers using Echo Chainsaw Equipment to produce fantastic wood carving sculptures. Two shows will be presented nightly Monday through Wednesday and on Friday evening fair goers will have the opportunity to bid in an auction on many of the carvings. Proceeds from this auction will go to the newly formed Taylor County Fair Youth Scholarship Program.
Returning attractions includes: On-Target for Christ Archery Shoot a ministry of Mt. Roberts Baptist Church, 4-H Interactive Petting Zoo, 4-H Exhibits, Homemaking Exhibits, Open Beef and Dairy Shows and Horse Shows. The Gospel Music Sing will also return featuring many popular local performers.
On the Main Track, the ever popular KTPA Truck Pull Series will take place over two nights at the fair. Returning events include: J & M Go-Kart Racing, a Demolition Derby produced by T.E. Promotions, the Clementsville Motorsports Mud Run, and a new event currently being planned.
All Pageants and Talent Shows have been moved to the newly named Pageant and Talent Hoop Tent located directly behind the grandstands of the Main Track. Several grounds improvements will be made prior to the start of the fair.
